The course aims to provide knowledge and skills aimed at carrying out experimental tests on mechanical components to determine the state of stress, structural integrity and dynamic response (vibrations). The student will know the main tools for measuring loads, displacements, accelerations and strains, and will learn the basic principles for filtering and processing signals, also in relation to current legislation, as well as the criteria that allow to identify the validity of a measurement signal (e.g. signal-to-noise ratio).
This knowledge will allow the student to perform in technical roles in the analysis of the operation and measurement of the stress of machines.
