Basic skills for describing mineralogical compositions and microstructures of rocks, with the goal of classifying them using microscopy. Major petrogenetic processes in the framework of the evolution of the Earth system, with an emphasis on magma-generating processes, magma differentiation, and metamorphic associations in relation to different geodynamic settings.
