Learning outcomes

The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the main themes on cosmopolitan theory, according to its modern and contemporary formulations. After the course the students will be able to manage advanced concepts of modern political theory with reference to cosmopolitanism and the legal and moral status of ones who share a condition which is alien to state membership (i.e. migrants, foreigners etc.).
Furthermore, the course aims to provide students the knowledge of the most relevant postnational and transnational institutional processes, today in action in many regions of the world, according to a perspective particularly focused on the EU as well as the theoretical issues which this political process produces. A specific program will be selected every academic year. The course will occasionally foresee seminars.
