Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have acquired solid scientific knowledge and technical skills on a wide range of innovative crops for the agro-industry and their products, in order to respond to the needs of innovation and diversification of farms and paying attention to needs of the processing industry. She/he will possess up-to-date and in-depth knowledge on the main industrial crops for the production of bio-based materials and products for various industrial applications, including those in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors. The concept of biorefinery and the cascading use of the different biomass components will be illustrated in order to improve production efficiency and reduce waste by contributing to the sustainable use of resources for sustainable development, in line with the 2030 Global Agenda for sustainable development of the United Nations and related Goals.
