The student will acquire the knowledge of the physical, chemical and biological properties of various types of residual biomasses, the maturation stage of the organic fraction, as well as the concentration of the most important organic and mineral pollutants in different biomasses. The student will acquire the fundamental skills for the understanding and management of thermochemical, biological and mechanical conversion processes of biomasses as well as the most innovative applications in the field of the circular economy connected to the reuse of biomass deriving from agro-industrial, forestry and municipal residues, even from the point of view of biorefinery.
