The plants synthesize a large number of special molecules (the so-called secondary or specialized metabolites) with wide biological activity. The course is aimed to provide the main knowledge on secondary metabolites belonging to the classes of phenylpropanoid, terpenes and nitrogen compounds but also to their role in the plant product quality.
