The course will provide knowledge and skills available on livestock farm about the main technologies applied to precision feeding, with the aim to provide the right nutrients at the right time to the right animal. At this aim, the main apps and models available for the animal requirements estimation during the different physiological phases and on different farming systems and for designing and simulating rations able to satisfy the above requirements will be adopted. Rations will be discussed taking into consideration the impact on animal productivity and on greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient leakage in the environment. Finally, the main on-farm technologies for the precision administration and management of the feed ingredient will be discussed.
