Learning outcomes

The goal of the course is to give the knowledge of the political and institutional women's rights
history, and to read critically the development of forms of organization of power in the modern and
contemporary age in a gender perspective. These categories will be applied to specific cases and will
be crossed with concepts related to the struggle for citizenship and the evolution of welfare state.
The aim of the course, of a monographic nature, will be the acquisition of critical knowledge of the
historical origin of discrimination as well as of the culture of rights. Those activities prepare students
to acquire the ability to identify, analyse and contrast the discrimination, and to develop argumentative
and lexical skills appropriate to the professional profiles that the degree course aims to train.
