Learning outcomes
The course aims at providing the methodological tools for the design of airplanes. The basic knowledge acquired in the fields of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, structures and aeronautical systems are finalized towards to design of the aircraft, developing methodologies and tools for the preliminary and detailed design. The conceptual phase, leading to the establishment of an appropriate reference architecture of the airplane, is developed in a comprehensive manner; the preliminary stage is treated with reference to the structural design, the detailed phase is illustrated with reference to some significant structural components.
