INQUADRANDO IL PERCORSO FORMATIVO ALL'INTERNO DI UNA CORNICE TEORICA E METODOLOGICA DERIVATA DALL'ANALISI DELLE POLITICHE PUBBLICHE, IL CORSO SI PROPONE DI DOTARE GLI STUDENTI DI UNA CASSETTA DEGLI ATTREZZI (COGNITIVI E OPERATIVI) UTILI PER POTER ANALIZZARE E PROGETTARE INTERVENTI NELL'AMBITO DELLE POLITICHE DELL'IMMIGRAZIONE. LE DOMANDE DI RICERCA CHE GUIDERANNO IL PERCORSO SONO LE SEGUENTI: 1) COSA STUDIAMO QUANDO AFFRONTIAMO LA QUESTIONE-IMMIGRAZIONE?; 2) QUALI SONO LE PRINCIPALI CONSEGUENZE DEL FENOMENO-IMMIGRAZIONE SULLE DINAMICHE POLITICHE INTRA E INTER-STATALI?; 3) L'OGGETTO DI STUDIO RICHIEDE APPROCCI E CONCETTI NUOVI O PUO' ESSERE ADEGUATAMENTE AFFRONTATO ATTRAVERSO GLI APPROCCI TRADIZIONALI? PARTICOLARE ATTENZIONE SARA' DEDICATA ALLA NATURA MULTI-LIVELLO DELLA QUESTIONE-IMMIGRAZIONE, OSSIA ALLE SCELTE CHE CARATTERIZZANO LA SUDDIVISIONE DELLE COMPETENZE IN MATERIA TRA PIU' ATTORI (ISTITUZIONALI E NON) OPERANTI A DIFFERENTI LIVELLI TERRITORIALI.

 
Knowledge

 

The student who successfully completes the course will be able to handle a a tool-box oriented to the analysis and planning of interventions in the immigration policy domain. The student will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of the policies, in the field of immigration, adopted by States and International Organizations since the beginning of the Nineties. The research questions to be addressed are the following: 1) what do we study when facing the problems of immigration?; 2) which are the main consequences of immigration in terms of intra and inter-State politics and policies? 3) does immigration need to be studied through new concepts and approaches? Particular attention will be devoted to the multi-level settings that characterize immigration policies and to the dynamics of the relations between actors operating at different territorial levels.

  • Per l'accertamento delle conoscenze sarà svolta una prova in itinere, che consisterà nell'approfondimento di un argomento a scelta degli studenti che frequentano il corso;
Assessment criteria of knowledge
  • During the course attending students will be asked to prepare an oral presentation about one of the topic addressed by the class;

  • Lo studente sarà in grado di svolgere una ricerca appropriata sui temi affrontati durante il corso;
  • Lo studente sarà in grado di consultare le fonti secondarie e le le banche dati più rilevanti ai fini della ricerca empirica nel settore;
Skills
  • Students will be able to plan and conduct an appropriate investigation of the topics addressed by the course;
  • Students will be able to find and use both secondary and primary sources, which are relevant for the empirical research;
Modalità di verifica delle capacità
  • Saranno svolte attività pratiche per la ricerca, in rete, delle principali fonti e delle banche dati più rilevanti ai fini della ricerca empirica;
Assessment criteria of skills
  • A practical demonstration of how to find both secondary and primary sources will be organizaed during the course;

  • Lo studente potrà acquisire e/o sviluppare sensibilità relativamente alle problematiche dell'immigrazione e alla complessa rete di attori e processi che le caratterizzano;

  • Students will be able to analyse critically problems related to migration policy making, framed as a complex network of actors, processes, events;
Modalità di verifica dei comportamenti
  • In seguito alle attività seminariali sarà richiesta agli studenti una breve relazione concernente uno degli argomenti trattati in aula;
Assessment criteria of behaviors
  • Following the course, students will be asked to present a brief relation concerning the addressed topics;
Prerequisiti (conoscenze iniziali)
  • Allo studente si richiede una preparazione adeguata in ambito politologico;
Prerequisites

 

  • Although not compulsory, students should possess at least basic knowledge in the field of Political Science (Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy Analysis, Administrative Sciences).
