Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The goal of this course is to introduce students to present-day themes on Work and Organizational Psychology trough a discussion of the history of leading theories and construct: content theory and process theory; goal setting, self-regulation, social-cognitive theory, expectancy theory, self-determination theory. The student will be introduced to the managing of framing of core themes such as individuals development frame at work: personnel differences, cognitive aspects, work personality psychology, self-interest, organizational values and culture; individual decision making; job variables (rotations, etc); role variables; leadership dynamics, personnel evaluation, personnel recruitment, personnel selection.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course and on the full contents of mandatory textbooks, at the board will be assessed.

Syllabus
The course aims to introduce and develop the theoretical aspects on organizational behavior of individuals and groups in organizations. Starting from the definitions of organization and organizing, the course will deepen the principal theories of Organizational Psychology and of Work Psychology providing students with the knowledge of the main phenomena that characterize the human behaviour in productive structures and organized social systems. This course will review the history of work psychology primarily focusing on the individual variables that make up the background of work behavior. A special consideration will be given to the comprehension of various consequent phenomena, to external and internal changes of organizations and to their consequences on working behaviors such as the most updated psychosocial risks study perspective on stress, mobbing and burnout themes (the VARP Model).
