Attraverso questo corso lo studente sarà in grado di comprendere l'incidenza delle guerre persiane sulla percezione dell'identità greca, sul suo uso politico e, più in generale, sulle relazioni oriente-occidente.
Through this course the student will be able to acquire knowledge about the influence of the Persian wars on the the Greek identity, its political use, and, more in general, on the East-West relationship.
La verifica delle conoscenze avverrà attraverso i seminari tenuti durante il corso e le discussioni in aula.
Verification will take place through talks with the teacher and seminars in the classroom.
Lo studente sarà in grado di svolgere una ricerca e di compiere un’analisi filologica e storica delle fonti e della letteratura secondaria.
The student will be able to conduct a research and a philological and historical analysis of the sources and the secondary literature.
La verifica avverrà attraverso i colloqui con il docente, i seminari in aula e l’esame finale.
Verification will take place through talks with the teacher and through seminars in the classroom.
Lo studente potrà acquisire una sensibilità storica e una capacità di giudizio sulle vicende politiche antiche.
The student can acquire a historical sensibility and a judgment ability on ancient political events.

L’esame consiste in una prova orale in cui il candidato risponderà sugli argomenti svolti a lezione e sulla bibliografia di riferimento e farà una sintesi finale del seminario tenuto durante il corso.
The exam consists of an oral exam, in which the candidate will discuss the lecture topics and the reference bibliography and will make a final synthesis of the seminar held during the course.
Non sono previste (obbligatorie o facoltative) forme di stages, tirocini o collaborazioni con terzi durante il corso.
There will be no obligatory or optional form of stage, traineeship, or collaboration with third parties during the course.
