Lo studente che termina il corso con successo sarà in grado di comprendere i principali concetti su cui si basa la microeconomia. Comprenderà le principali caratteristiche delle imprese agricole ed i problemi principali che si trovano a fronteggiare nella loro attività di impresa. Lo studente sarà in grado di realizzare le principlai registrazioni contabili sotto differenti ipotesi (sistema del patrimonio - sistema del reddito) e di comprendere l'utilità di contabilità e bilancio in termini di "ciclo di pianificazione e controllo". Lo studente acquisirà gli strumenti di base per valutare alcune scelte parziali e sarà in grado di analizzare criticamente alcune delle principali politiche agricole.
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to understand some basic concepts of microeconomics. The student will be able to understand the main characteristics of farm enterprises and the basic problems they face in their business. The student will be able to perform a basic accountancy of a farm under different hypotheses and to understand its utility in terms of "planning and control" cycle. The student will acquire basic tools for evaluating some choices at partial level and she/he will be able to perform a critical analysis of some of the most important agricultural policies.
Le conoscenze acquisite saranno verificate sia riguardo alla capacità di rispondere a domande sui principali contenuti del corso, utilizzando una terminologia appropriata, sia di mettere in pratica e di eseguire, con consapevolezza critica, le attività illustrate o effettuate sotto la guida del docente durante il corso, in particolare durante le esercitazioni svolte in aula. Il fine della valutazione è di accertare che lo studente abbia raggiunto un livello soddisfacente sia di conoscenza teorica, sia di abilità pratica nel risolvere problemi o nell'eseguire compiti.

Durante il corso saranno effettuati test intermedi di autovalutazione o valutazioni in itinere.
Il test scritto finale sarà rivolto agli studenti non frequentanti o agli studenti frequentanti che non hanno partecipato o non hanno superato i test scritti periodici. E' possibile che venga richiesto un esame orale per poter confermare (o migliorare) i risultati dello scritto, ma solo in particolari casi (ad es. studenti stranieri, con problemi di lingua).
The student will be assessed on: a) his/her demonstrated ability to answer questions on the main course contents using the appropriate terminology; b) her/his ability to put into practice and to execute, with critical awareness, the activities illustrated or carried out under the guidance of the teacher during the course. The aim of the assessment is to ascertain that the student has reached both a satisfactory level of knowledge about theory and of ability in solving problems or performing tasks.

Further information:
Intermediate tests for self-evaluation or in progress evaluation will be held during the lectures. Final written tests will be held for students not attending lectures or who have not attended or not passed periodic written tests. It is possible that an oral exam would be alloweded to improve written test result, but only in specific situations (e.g. foreign students)
Al termine del corso lo studente non avrà acquisito soltanto conoscenze e competenze adeguate al superamento dell'esame, ma soprattutto la consapevolezza di quanto i meccanismi dell'economia condizionino la vita delle imprese e delle persone, oltre ad un metodo di ragionamento e delle capacità adeguate a poter aggiornare ed estendere le proprie competenze in campo economico.
The students who successfully complete the course will not only acquire the knowledge and skills needed to pass the examination, but also the awareness of the influence of economic mechanisms on the life of businesses and people together with a method of reasoning and adequate skills, which will consent them to update and enlarge their skills in the economic field.
Durante lo svolgimento del corso vengono previste esercitazioni in aula, test di autovalutazione, etc. volti a verificare la capacità degli studenti di:
- risolvere esercizi, anche relativi a soluzioni grafiche di problemi di scelta
- collegare tra di loro argomenti trattati separatamente
The ability of students in:
- solving exercises and performing graphic solutions
- making correlations among related topics
will be verified on progress, through self-evaluation tests and classes where excercises and other practical activities will be performed autonomously by students or together with the teacher.
Alla fine del corso lo studente acquisterà una conoscenza delle basi della contabilità ed interpretazione del bilancio e sarà in grado di comprendere i principali driver economici delle scelte degli agricoltori. Queste conoscenze permetteranno un successivo allargamento/approfondimento/aggiornamento autonomo in questi campi.
At the end of the course the student will be able to have a basic knowledge of accountancy and balansheet interpretation and to understand the economic drivers of farmers' choices. This would allow the student to enlarge/update/deepen his/her knowledge and skills

L'insegnamento copre le seguenti tematiche: a) alcuni concetti di microeconomia (domanda, offerta, equilibrio di mercato, concorrenza perfetta, concorrenza monopolistica, monopolio) necessari per comprendere i principali problemi economici che gli agricoltori devono affrontare; b) principali caratteristiche che differenziano le aziende agricole da altre tipologie di imprese; c) contabilità e suo ruolo per il controllo (e la pianificazione); d) alcune delle principali scelte che gli agricoltori devono affrontare (ottima quantità di utilizzo di un fattore variabile, ottima combinazione di prodotti, etc.); e) una breve panoramica delle principali politiche agricole e del loro impatto sul comportamento delle aziende e sui risultati conseguiti. Il programma effettivamente svolto è riportato in dettaglio nel registro delle lezioni, disponibile online.
The course covers: a) some concepts of microeconomics (demand, supply, market equilibrium, perfect competition, monopoly) needed to understand the main economic problems that farmers have to face; b) the main characteristics that differentiate farms from other kinds of firms; c) accountancy and its role for control (and planning); d) some of the main choices that farmers have to face (optimum input level, enterprise combination, etc.); e) a brief outlook of the main agricultural policies and their impact on farm behaviour and performance.
