Al termine del corso:
- lo studente avrà acquisito competenza in grammatica della Lingua Inglese di Livello B1 e nozioni di inglese accademico
Livello B1: Comprendere i punti chiave di argomenti familiari che riguardano la scuola, il tempo libero, ambito di specializzazione. Muoversi con disinvoltura in situazioni che possono verificarsi mentre si viaggia nel Paese di cui parla la lingua. Produrre un testo semplice (scritto e orale) relativo ad argomenti che siano familiari o di interesse personale. Esprimere esperienze ed avvenimenti, sogni, speranze e ambizioni e di spiegare brevemente le ragioni delle sue opinioni e dei suoi progetti.

At the end of the course:
- students will have basic knowledge of English phonology, morphology and Academic English
B1 level descriptor: Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics, which are familiar, or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Lo studente saprà:

Students will be able to:

Gli studenti dovranno avere già le competenze previste per il livello A2 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue: - Saper comprendere e usare espressioni di uso quotidiano e frasi basilari tese a soddisfare bisogni di tipo concreto. -Saper presentare sé stessi e gli altri. Comunicare in attività semplici e di abitudine che richiedono un semplice scambio di informazioni su argomenti familiari e comuni e descrivere in termini semplici aspetti della sua vita, dell'ambiente circostante. -Saper esprimere bisogni immediati. -Saper fare domande e rispondere su particolari personali come dove si abita, le persone che si conoscono e le cose che si possiedono. -Saper interagire in modo semplice, purché l'altra persona parli lentamente e chiaramente e sia disposta a collaborare.
Nozioni base di morfologia flessiva.
In order to attend the course, it is necessary to have basic knowledge of English (at least at A2 level).
Students can already understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). They can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters; can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Students will need to have basic knowledge of inflectional morphology.

A) ESAME 1: SCRITTO DI GRAMMATICA
La prova è un test con esercizi a scelta multipla di comprensione del testo orale (listening comprehension) e scritto (reading comprehension), esercizi tesi a verificare la conoscenza di lessico e grammatica (si veda il programma e i requisiti per ottenere il livello B1 del Quadro Comune di Riferimento Europeo per le lingue).
Verrà accertato il livello di competenza del candidato che, si ricorda, dovrà corrispondere al B1 del Quadro Comune Europeo per le Lingue. L'esito del test dà indicazione del livello di competenza (che può essere: A1/A2; B1; B1+; B2)
B) TEST 2: FONETICA/FONOLOGIA dell'Inglese
Il test consta di domande a scelta multipla di argomenti di fonetica e fonologia della lingua Inglese trattati durante il corso. Il risultato è espresso con un voto in trentesimi. Il voto minimo per superare l'esame è 18/30.
C) TEST 3: MORFOLOGIA dell'Inglese/Inglese accademico
Il test consta di domande a scelta multipla di argomenti trattati durante il corso relative a morfologia e scrittura accademica. Il risultato è espresso con un voto in trentesimi. Il voto minimo per superare l'esame è 18/30.
NOTA: Il superamento degli scritti è condizione per poter accedere all’esame orale. Lo scritto di grammatica ha validità di un anno, entro il quale devono essere sostenute tutte le prove per la registrazione del voto. Le prove scritte possono essere sostenute tutte nella stessa sessione d'esame o separatamente, a scelta dello studente. Se si decide di fare tutte e tre le prove scritte in una sola sessione, si chiede gentilmente di indicarlo in nota al momento dell'iscrizione all'esame, per una migliore gestione dei tempi della prova.
D) ESAME ORALE
L'esame orale è volto a verificare una competenza orale produttiva di livello B1.
Il candidato deve preparare un curriculum vitae in inglese, dove annoterà dati biografici, esperienze di studio e lavorative (ad esempio: esperienza durante il periodo di alternanza scuola-lavoro, o altri lavori che può aver svolto in passato). Il curriculum vitae è un pretesto per parlare di sé (in maniera conforme a quanto richiesto dal QCER ) e dà la possibilità allo studente di prepararsi in anticipo lessico e strutture sintattiche necessarie ad affrontare il colloquio.

La valutazione finale, in trentesimi, sarà ottenuta facendo la media aritmetica tra le due prove di fonetica e morfologia. Il test di grammatica e l’orale servono solamente per verificare il livello di competenza B1. Tuttavia, in caso si ottengano punteggi che collochino a livelli più alti del B1, si otterrà un bonus secondo lo schema seguente:
Test grammatica B2, esame orale B2: 2 punti
Test grammatica B1+, esame orale B1+: 1 punto
Test grammatica B2, esame orale B1+: 1 punto (o 1,5 per arrotondare)
Test grammatica B1+, esame orale B2: 1 punto (o 1,5 per arrotondare)
B2/B1, es. Test grammatica B2 (oB1), esame orale B1 (o B2): 1 punto
In tutti gli altri casi, non verrà assegnato alcun bonus.

A) TEST 1: GRAMMAR
Multiple choice questions on grammar , listening and reading comprehension multiple choice questions, which aim at the assessment of the required competence (B1 level). However, test result will show the competence level of the student and will be expressed by the CEFR levels A1/A2; B1; B1+ and B2.
B) TEST 2: PHONETICS/PHONOLOGY
Multiple choice questions on the topics dealt with during the lessons, which aim at the assessment of the required basic competence on phonetics and phonology. Results is expressed in thirteths ___/30 (minimum grade to pass the exam: 18/30)
C) TEST 3: MORPHOLOGY/ACADEMIC ENGLISH (AE)
Multiple choice questions on the topics dealt with during the lessons, which aim at the assessment of the required basic competence on morphology and AE. Results is expressed in thirteths ___/30 (minimum grade to pass the exam: 18/30)
IMPORTANT: It is compulsory to have passed the 3 written exams before taking the oral exam. The written tests can be taken either in the same examination session or in different ones. The students who choose to take the three written tests during the same exam session are kindly asked to specify it in the note when signing up for the exam on "valutami".
D: ORAL EXAM
The oral exam is aimed at the assessment of the spoken competence of the students (B1 Level).
The students are asked to write a CV in English, where they will report on their lives, personal and job past experience (for example stages or temporary jobs).
The CV is meant to help the students, who can prepare the necessary vocabulary and syntactic structures to talk about the planned topics.

The final score is given by the arithmetic mean of the two tests above (Phonology & Morphology/Ac Eng.). Grammar test and oral exam are only meant to assess the B1 level and are not reckoned in the final score. However, if the score of the grammar test and the oral exam is higher than the one demanded and the resulting level is B1+ or B2, 1 or 2 points will be added to the final score (see below):
Grammar test B2, oral exam B2: 2 points
Grammar test B1+, oral exam B1+: 1 point
Grammar test B2, oral exam B1+: 1 point (or 1.5 to round up the final grade)
Grammar test B1+, oral exam B2: 1 point (or 1.5 to round up the final grade)
B2/B1, e.g. Grammar T B2 (or B1), oral exam B1 (or B2): 1 point
In all the other cases no points will be added to the final score.
