Il corso introduce alle problematiche fondamentali connesse con lo studio della metrica greca.
Al termine del corso lo studente avrà acquisito conoscenze tecniche avanzate in relazione ai più significativi fenomeni prosodici e alle principali strutture metriche della poesia greca antica.
The course introduces students to the fundamental facts, problems and issues associated with the study of Greek metrics.
At the end of the course the student will have acquired advanced technical knowledge in relation to the most significant prosodic phenomena and the main metrical structures of ancient Greek poetry.
La verifica dell'acquisizione delle conoscenze sopra indicate sarà oggetto della valutazione nell'esame orale finale. Nello specifico, allo studente verrà richiesto di riconoscere la struttura metrica dei testi proposti, di saperli leggere metricamente ove possibile e di saper scandire i singoli versi identificandone le peculiarità ritmiche e prosodiche.
S’intende preliminare e precondizione all’analisi metrica la capacità di tradurre e contestualizzare nelle loro grandi linee brani proposti.
The acquisition of the above-mentioned knowledge will be assessed in the final oral examination. Students will be asked to recognise the metrical structure of the texts proposed, to be able to read them metrically where possible and to be able to scan the individual lines, identifying their rhythmic and prosodic peculiarities.
The ability to translate and contextualise the proposed texts is a mandatory precondition for metrical analysis.
Al termine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di identificare i principali versi della poesia greca sia recitata sia lirica, di descriverne gli schemi e le variazioni e di cogliere il nesso fra questo rilevante aspetto del significante poetico e l'insieme della composizione; saprà, inoltre, servirsi della terminologia scientifica appropriata al campo di studi della metrica, ritmica e prosodia.
At the end of the course the student will be able to identify the main metrical typologies of Greek poetry, both recited and lyrical, to describe their patterns and variations and to grasp the connection between this important aspect of the poetic medium and the composition as a whole; the student will also be able to use the scientific terminology appropriate to the field of metrics, rhythm and prosody.
Le capacità acquisite saranno verificate in sede d'esame orale finale.
The skills acquired will be tested in the final oral examination.
Una volta superato il corso e l'esame, lo studente possiederà familiarità con la materia e la terminologia tecnica metrica, e saprà metterla a frutto per l'analisi metrica, ma anche più ampiamente storico-letteraria dei testi che incontrerà sul suo percorso futuro.
Lo studente saprà inoltre orientarsi nell'uso dei principali strumenti, anche bibliografici, connessi con l'analisi prosodica e metrica.
Once the course and the exam have been passed, the student will be familiar with the subject and the technical metrical terminology, and will be able to put it to good use in the metrical and, more broadly, literary-historical analysis of the texts he or she will encounter in his/her future career
The student will also know how to use the main tools, including bibliographical ones, connected with prosodic and metrical analysis.

Il corso richiede le conoscenze linguistiche e storico-letterarie e le nozioni di metodo filologico e traduttivo di cui lo studente è in possesso al termine della laurea triennale in discipline classiche.
The course requires the linguistic and literary-historical knowledge and the notions of philological and translation method that the student possesses at the end of the three-year degree in Classics.
Lezioni frontali alternate e combinate ad interventi di esercitazione o seminariali degli studenti, compatibilmente e coerentemente con la situazione imposta dalla didattica in regime "a distanza"
La frequenza è altamente raccomandata; sarà possibile seguire le lezioni anche in differita, visionando le registrazioni delle singole lezioni tenute in streaming.
Allo studente è richiesta attività di studio individuale in vista dell'esame orale finale e di approfondimento bibliografico, anche a cadenza settimanale.
Lectures alternated and combined with exercises or seminars by the students, compatibly and coherently with the situation imposed by the "distance learning" system.

Il corso affronterà lo studio dei principali concetti della metrica greca, dei più significativi fenomeni prosodici e delle principali strutture della recitazione e del canto.
L’approfondimento monografico verterà sui due principali metri recitati della letteratura greca, l’esametro dattilico (con un’appendice dedicata al distico elegiaco) ed il trimetro giambico, studiati sulla base dei testi ed autori indicati in “Bibliografia e materiale didattico”.
The course will study the main concepts of Greek metrics, the most significant prosodic phenomena and the main structures of recitation and singing.
The monographic module will focus on the two principal recited metres of Greek literature, the dactylic hexameter (with an appendix dedicated to the elegiac couplet) and the iambic trimeter, to be studied on the basis of the texts and authors indicated in "Bibliography and teaching materials".

L'esame consisterà in una prova orale nel corso della quale sarà richiesto allo studente di esporre e discutere le principali questioni relative all'interpretazione prosodica e metrica di una selezione dei testi proposti e saranno accertate le conoscenze e competenze conseguite.
Durante l'esame si verificherà inoltre la capacità dello studente di comprendere il senso del testo e di darne una resa italiana adeguata.
The final exam will consist of an oral test during which the student will be asked to explain and discuss the main issues relating to the prosodic and metric interpretation of a selection of the proposed texts and the knowledge and skills acquired will be assessed.
During the exam the student's ability to understand the meaning of the text and to give it an adequate Italian rendering will also be verified.
