All students who successfully complete the course will be able to read and understand Dante’s works with a linguistic and philological approach. They will mature solid knowledge of philological techniques and advanced knowledge of Dante’s literary work. They will learn about the main issues of the textual criticism into the field of the Dante studies.
Attività seminariali ed esame finale orale.
Students will be assessed on their demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. The course includes both an oral presentation and a written report. With the oral presentation, delivered in front of the whole class, students must demonstrate the ability to approach witch critical awareness a circumscribed research problem and to give an effective exposition of the results. In their paper, students must put in written form their presentation, improved by suggestions and corrections provided by the teacher. Finally, at the oral exam, it will be assessed students’ knowledge of the course material and their ability to discuss thoroughly the readings, with propriety of expression.
Possedere lo strumentario filologico e storico-critico necessario per analizzare le opere di Dante e la loro tradizione testuale e letteraria, per lavorare all'edizione critica e al commento dei testi.
By the end of the course, students will be able to discuss Dante’s works, to put representatives and exemplar texts (in particular Dante’s Paradiso and Egloge) in the historical and cultural background. They will also know how to use main digital and paper-based tools.

Students will develop their ability to be fully involved in a teamworking. Students will acquire accuracy and precision when collecting and analysing data of Dante’s texts. They will also be able to properly consult a scholarly critical edition of Dante’s texts
Students will be assessed on the basis of their involvement in the teamwork and their management of the scientific project.

L’ultimo Dante tra Paradiso ed Egloge: il rifugio ravvenate e la morte.
Nell’anno del VII Centenario della morte di Dante, il corso affronterà le principali questioni storico-letterarie sull'ultimo biennio vissuto dal Poeta a Ravenna, con particolare riguardo al contesto storico-politico, culturale e filologico dello scrittoio della Commedia e delle Egloge e agli episodi, ai luoghi e ai personaggi dell'ultimo rifugio dantesco, compresa l'ambasceria presso il doge di Venezia eseguita per conto di Guido Novello prima della sua morte.
Dante’s last years, between Paradiso and Egloge: Ravenna as his haven before his death.
As 2021 marks the seventh centenary of Dante’s death, this course will cover the main historical-literary issues of Dante’s last two years of quiet living in Ravenna. The course will be focused on the historical, political, cultural, and philological context of Dante’s last production (Commedia and Egloge), as well as on the most important episodes, locations, and characters of Dante’s last haven, including the 1321 embassy to the Doge of Venice on behalf of Guido Novello.

Per gli studenti non frequentanti, esclusivamente per ragioni riconosciute dal Regolamento d'Ateneo, il programma d’esame dovrà essere concordato con il docente.

Il Corso si svolgerà anche in forma seminariale, con seminari e tesine di approfondimento, e su temi concordati con il docente.
L'esame si svolgerà in forma orale e con tesine formalizzate in redazione scritta.
The exam is made up of three parts. After the oral presentation and the written report, students will sit an oral test. They shall be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the readings (handbook and essays). Furthermore, students are assessed on their learning outcomes, through the reading and analysis of one of the texts studied in class.
