Alla fine del corso lo studente: avrà acquisito conoscenze approfondite in merito al rapporto che intercorre tra letteratura e storia nel secondo Novecento tedesco; avrà affinato le proprie capacità di analisi del testo letterario; avrà acquisito maggiore consapevolezza delle strutture complesse della lingua tedesca e delle problematiche traduttive a esse connesse.
- At the end of the course the students will have acquired in-depth knowledge on the relationship between literature and history in the second half of the twentieth century in Germany and will have honed their skills in analyzing literary texts; furthermore they will have acquired greater awareness of the complex structures of the German language and of the translation problems connected with them.
La verifica delle conoscenze sarà oggetto della relazione orale, della discussione seminariale, infine della prova orale e dell’elaborato scritto propedeutico a essa.
- Academic progress will be monitored and verified fromthe oral report, the seminar discussion, the written paper and finally the oral test.
Lo studente potrà affinare la propria sensibilità per l’analisi stilistico-letteraria del testo in lingua originale e saprà contestualizzarlo da un punto di vista storico-culturale. Oltre a rafforzare le proprie capacità argomentative sia in forma orale che scritta, potrà sviluppare la capacità di lavorare in gruppo e di esporre in modo organico e coerente davanti agli altri i risultati del proprio lavoro di approfondimento.
- The students will be able to conduct stylistic-literary analysis of the text in the original language and to contextualize it from a historical-cultural point of view. In addition to strengthening their argumentative skills both in oral and written form, they will be able to develop the ability to work in a group and to expose the results of they in-depth work in an organic and coherent way in front of others.
La verifica delle capacità avverrà sia in itinere tramite relazione orale e partecipazione alla discussione seminariale, sia a fine corso (relazione scritta e prova orale).
- Students will have to prepare and present an oral and a written report that documents the results of the project activity
Lo studente sarà in grado di svolgere in modo autonomo un lavoro di analisi letteraria e storico-culturale e di ricerca bibliografica, e saprà avvalersi in modo critico della letteratura scientifica.
- Students will be able to independently carry out a work of literary and historical-cultural analysis and bibliographic research, and will be able to make critical use of scientific literature.
La verifica dei comportamenti avverrà tramite la discussione in itinere, la relazione orale e la prova finale (relazione scritta e prova orale).
- Behaviors will be verified through the ongoing discussion, the oral report and the final exam (written report and oral exam).
Buona conoscenza del tedesco e della storia della letteratura tedesca.

Al fine di sviluppare le competenze linguistiche necessarie alla lettura dei testi in lingua originale, lo studente è invitato a seguire regolarmente le lezioni di lettorato. Fondamentale è inoltre la frequenza del laboratorio di traduzione (lingua tedesca). Il corso si avvarrà inoltre delle competenze che lo studente acquisirà contemporaneamente nel corso di Lingua e Traduzione Tedesca del CdS Linguistica e Traduzione.
- In order to develop the linguistic skills necessary for reading the texts in the original language, students are invited to regularly attend lettorato lessons. The attendance of the translation laboratory (German language) is also fundamental. The course will also make use of the skills that the students will acquire simultaneously in the German Language and Translation course.
Le lezioni saranno in parte frontali, in parte di taglio seminariale. La parte seminariale prevede la creazione di gruppi di lavoro e una relazione orale da parte degli studenti su uno dei testi in programma d’esame. Le lingue del corso saranno l’italiano e il tedesco.
- The lessons will be partly frontal, partly based on seminars. The seminar part involves the creation of working groups and an oral report by the students on one of the texts in the exam program. The languages of the course will be Italian and German.
Erranza del pensiero, ricerca della verità, sperimentazione linguistica: configurazioni letterarie nel secondo Novecento germanofono.
- Il corso è dedicato ad alcuni testi canonici del secondo Novecento germanofono, nei quali il disorientamento epistemico del soggetto di fronte all’imperscrutabilità della storia origina una ricerca di verità di cui la lingua letteraria si fa ora veicolo ora strumento. La crisi della narrazione, che già aveva segnato il modernismo primo novecentesco, si acuisce dopo l’esperienza traumatica del Nazionalsocialismo e della seconda guerra mondiale, con conseguenze letterarie importanti. Molti testi secondo-novecenteschi si configurano come vere e proprie erranze del pensiero di un soggetto solitario e monologante, come scandaglio letteraria della memoria e della soggettività, come parola pronunciata da narratori per lo più inaffidabili, oppure, al contrario, si caratterizzano per il ricorso al documentarismo e/o per l’accostamento contrastivo di voci diverse da cui scaturisce una complessa ricerca polifonica della verità. Nel corso si avrà cura di analizzare in modo particolareggiato una selezione di testi rappresentativi delle configurazioni dette: oltre a illustrare le specifiche costellazioni storiche in cui i testi scelti si inseriscono, particolare attenzione sarà dedicata al loro sperimentalismo linguistico e letterario. Alcune ore del corso saranno dedicate a comprendere la sfida che tale sperimentalismo rappresenta per il traduttore italiano.

Mind-wanderings, search for truth, linguistic experimentation: literary configurations in the German-speaking second half of the twentieth century.
- The course is dedicated to some canonical texts of the late twentieth century German-speaking literature, in which the epistemic disorientation of the subject in the face of the inscrutability of history originates a search for truth of which the literary language is now a vehicle, now an instrument. The crisis of the narrative, which had already characterized early twentieth-century modernism, worsened after the traumatic experience of National Socialism and the Second World War, with important literary consequences. Many second-twentieth-century texts are configured as mind-wanderings of a solitary and monologizing subject, as a literary probe of memory and subjectivity, as a word pronounced by mostly unreliable narrators, or, on the contrary, they are characterized by recourse to documentarism and / or to the contrastive juxtaposition of different voices from which a complex polyphonic search for truth arises. During the course, care will be taken to analyze in detail a selection of texts representative of the aforementioned configurations: in addition to illustrating the specific historical constellations in which the chosen texts are inserted, particular attention will be paid to their linguistic and literary experimentalism. Some hours of the course will be dedicated to understanding the challenge that this experimentalism represents for the Italian translator.

Gli studenti non frequentanti sono pregati di recarsi al ricevimento della docente per concordare l’argomento della relazione scritta e ricevere informazioni sui materiali indicati a lezione.
- Non-attending students are requested to go to the teacher's reception to agree on the subject of the written report and receive information on the materials indicated during the course.
La prova d’esame consiste in una relazione scritta (15-20 pagine) dedicata a un argomento attinente al programma d’esame e concordato con la docente e in una prova orale. La prova orale verterà sui risultati della relazione scritta, sulla verifica delle conoscenze degli argomenti e dei testi trattati a lezione, quindi sulla capacità di analisi del testo letterario e di approfondimento della sua rilevanza nel contesto storico-letterario di appartenenza. La relazione scritta è propedeutica alla prova orale.
- The exam consists of a written report (15-20 pages) dedicated to a topic related to the exam program and agreed before with the teacher, and an oral test. The oral exam will focus on the results of the written report, on the verification of the knowledge of the topics and texts dealt with during the activity, on the ability to analyze the literary text and deepen its relevance in the historical-literary context to which it belongs. The written report is preparatory to the oral exam.
