Malattie parassitarie nei paesi in via di sviluppo (Scienze per la Pace)
Le malattie parassitarie rappresentano un vero e proprio flagello per le popolazioni che vivono in paesi della cintura tropicale e subtropicale, favorite da un elevata percentuale di soggetti ipo o malnutriti e caratterizzate da pessime condizioni igienico-sanitarie: la malaria ad esempio si trova al terzo posto come causa di morte nel mondo. Tali malattie portano un grave danno alle popolazioni a tutti i livelli: sanitario, sociale, economico ecc. A tale drammatico scenario che vede coinvolte diverse centinaia di milioni di persone, da qualche anno se ne è aggiunto un altro che interessa le nazioni occidentali: si assiste ad una recrudescenza o ricomparsa di varie infezioni/infestazioni parassitarie dovuta a flussi migratori di massa e ad un turismo sempre più elevato.
In tale corso verranno prese in considerazione le più importanti malattie parassitarie nei paesi in via di sviluppo, verrà fatta una panoramica sulla situazione nelle diverse regioni e del danno sanitario sociale ed economico e che tali malattie causano.
Verranno affrontati i rischi principali cui è esposto un viaggiatore nei Paesi esteri, cosa è importante assolutamente conoscere, quali misure adottare, vaccinazioni, misure di prevenzione ecc.
Inoltre verranno affrontate le malattie emergenti nei paesi occidentali.
Parasitic diseases in developing countries (Sciences for Peace)
Parasitic diseases represent a real scourge for the populations living in countries of the tropical and subtropical belt, favored by a high percentage of hypo or malnourished subjects and characterized by poor hygienic-sanitary conditions: malaria, for example, is in third place as a cause of death in the world. Such diseases bring serious harm to populations at all levels: health, social, economic, etc. To this dramatic scenario that involves several hundred million people, for some years another has been added that affects Western nations: we are witnessing a resurgence or reappearance of various infections / parasitic infestations due to mass migratory flows and an increasingly high tourism.
In this course, the most important parasitic diseases in developing countries will be taken into account, an overview will be given of the situation in the different regions and of the social and economic health damage that these diseases cause.
The main risks to which a traveler is exposed in foreign countries will be addressed, what is absolutely important to know, what measures to take, vaccinations, prevention measures, etc.
In addition, emerging diseases in Western countries will be addressed.
L'accertamento delle conoscenza avverrà durante tutto il corso con interazione studente-docente e con un colloquio finale
The assessment of knowledge will take place throughout the course with student-teacher interaction and with a final interview
Lo scopo che si propone il corso è quello di preparare lo studente alla conoscenza delle principali malattie parassitarie in paesi in via di sviluppo e delle malattie emergenti e riemergenti nei paesi occidentali. Conoscere le misure di profilassi da adottare nel caso di soggiorni in paesi dove le parassitosi sono presenti. Conoscenza delle modalità di divulgazione di problematiche legate agli agenti parassitari presso le popolazioni locali. Problematiche sociali riguardanti le malattie parassitarie
The aim of the course is to prepare the student for the knowledge of the main parasitic diseases in developing countries and of emerging and re-emerging diseases in Western countries. Know the prophylactic measures to be taken in the case of stays in countries where parasitosis is present. Knowledge of the methods of dissemination of problems related to parasitic agents to local populations. Social issues concerning parasitic diseases

Durante il corso saranno discusse le modalità per raggiungere gli obiettivi riportati sopra attarverso discussioni, filmati, esperienze del docente e di chi le avesse avute
During the course will be discussed how to achieve the objectives set out above through discussions, videos, experiences of the teacher and those who had them
