Al termine del corso gli studenti dovranno aver acquisito conoscenze su alcuni dei maggiori autori e dei più importanti momenti della storia della letteratura italiana dalle origini al Novecento.
At the end of the course students must have acquired knowledge on some of the major authors and on some of the most important moments in the history of Italian literature from its Origins to the Twentieth Century.
Le conoscenze saranno verificate tramite la discussione in aula e l’invito ad analizzare testi e strumenti della disciplina (che verranno illustrati a lezione a partire da singoli problemi incontrati nell'analisi delle opere letterarie), nonché ovviamente con il colloquio d’esame finale.
Knowledge will be tested through classroom discussion and an invitation to analyze texts and tools of the discipline (which will be illustrated in class, starting from single problems encountered in the analysis of literary works), and obviously through the final interview.
Lo studente dovrà maturare: una solida conoscenza degli autori esaminati durante il corso; un’adeguata capacità di lettura e di comprensione dei testi (a cominciare dalla parafrasi); un’adeguata conoscenza della lingua specifica degli studi letterari.
Students will have to gain: a solid knowledge of the authors examined during the course, an adequate ability to read and understand the texts (starting with the paraphrase), an adequate knowledge of the specific language of literary studies.
Esame orale finale. Le letture e le analisi svolte in aula consentiranno allo studente giunto all’esame di affinare le proprie capacità di comprensione dei testi e di acquisire i fondamentali strumenti storico-critici e metodologici per la conoscenza degli autori presi in considerazione.
Oral examination at the end of the course. The readings carried out in classroom will allow the student to improve his / her ability to understand the texts and to acquire the fundamental historical-critical and methodological tools for the knowledge of the authors taken into consideration.
Lo studente dovrà interpretare criticamente un testo letterario appoggiandosi in modo consapevole e autonomo alla bibliografia critica, così acquisendo l'esatta percezione della storia e della diacronia della cultura in senso lato.
Students should critically interpret a literary text relying in a conscious and autonomous way to the critical bibliography, thus acquiring the exact perception of the history and the diachrony of culture in a broader sense.
Allo studente sarà richiesto di motivare le scelte operate in merito alle edizioni dei testi, all'uso dei commenti e della bibliografia critica.
Students will be asked to motivate the choices made regarding the editions of the texts, the use of the comments and the critical bibliography.

Il corso si articola in una serie di lezioni frontali.

Il corso si articola in un modulo istituzionale (A) e un modulo monografico (B). Il modulo A propone una lettura ravvicinata di una serie di testi scelti dalla dispensa indicata in bibliografia, nonché di dieci canti della Commedia di Dante e di quattordici liriche tratte dal Canzoniere di Petrarca; a partire da questi testi sarà possibile riflettere su aspetti formali (la metrica, lo stile) e su temi e nodi storico-letterari. Il modulo B è dedicato a una lettura integrale e approfondita delle Satire di Ludovico Ariosto. A partire dalla dimensione satirica, dialogica e teatrale di questi testi, saranno proposte analisi di svariati brani di classici della letteratura italiana (tratti dalla dispensa di Giorgio Masi indicata in bibliografia).
The course is divided into an institutional module (A) and a monographic module (B). Module A proposes a close reading of a series of texts chosen from the handout indicated in the bibliography, as well as ten cantos from Dante’s Commedia and fourteen lyrics from Petrarch's Canzoniere; starting from these texts it will be possible to reflect on formal aspects (metrics, style) and on historical-literary themes and issues. Module B is dedicated to a comprehensive and in-depth reading of Ludovico Ariosto's Satires.

L’esame si svolgerà oralmente e non potrà essere diviso in parziali; potrà essere sostenuto e verbalizzato a partire dal primo appello estivo del 2024. Gli studenti Erasmus o non di madrelingua italiana possono concordare un programma alternativo.
The examination will be conducted orally and cannot be divided into partials; it can be taken and from the first summer session in 2024. Erasmus students or non-native Italian speakers may agree on an alternative program.
