Il corso ha lo scopo di applicare concretamente ed ampliare le conoscenze già acquisite nei precedenti insegnamenti, mediante l'applicazione delle stesse nell'ambito del laboratorio di Formula SAE, dove gli studenti sono incaricati di progettare e realizzare un prototipo di vettura da competizione.
Le conoscenze possono essere relative a molti campi dell'ingegneria, della fisica, dell'informatica, dell'economia, delle scienze della comunicazione e di altre aree tecniche, scientifiche e umanistiche.
Nell'ambito del laboratorio vengono acquisite anche competenze trasversali (soft skills) riconducibili al lavoro in gruppo, alla comunicazione all'interno e all'esterno del team, alla cura dei rapporti con i fornitori ecc.
The course aims to concretely apply and expand the knowledge already acquired in previous classes, through its application in the Formula SAE laboratory, where students have to design and build by their own a real prototype of a racing car. The knowledge can be related to many fields of engineering, physics, computer science, economics, communication sciences and other technical, scientific and humanistic areas.
As part of the laboratory, soft skills are also acquired, such as teamworking, communication within and outside the team, managing relationships with suppliers, etc.
L’esame mira ad accertare la conoscenza degli aspetti pratici e applicativi relativi alla disciplina sulla quale lo studente si è concentrato nella sua esperienza di laboratorio FSAE.
The examination aims to ascertain the knowledge of the practical and applicative aspects related to the discipline on which the student has concentrated in his FSAE laboratory experience.
Gli studenti svolgeranno un progetto e, ove necessario, si occuperanno di supervisionare la produzione e effettuare l'assemblaggio di quanto progettato.
The students will carry out a project and, if necessary, will supervise the production and carry out the assembly of the parts or components that have been designed.
Lo studente acquisirà sensibilità nella progettazione/pianificazione delle attività e attitudine al lavoro in team e alla cura dei rapporti esterni al team.
The student will improve his capabilities in the design/planning of activities and, at the same time, will develop an aptitude for teamwork and taking care of relationships outside the team.
L’attività individuale di discussione delle principali soluzioni progettuazli e di pianificazione attuate permetterà la verifica dell’acquisizione dei comportamenti suddetti.
The individual activity of discussing the main design and planning solutions implemented during the work, will allow the verification of the acquisition of the aforementioned behaviors.
Possono partecipare al laboratorio studenti delle Lauree Triennali che abbiano conseguito almeno 60 CFU all'inizio dell'attività, o studenti delle Lauree Magistrali che, all'inizio dell'attività, risultino iscritti da non più di 24 mesi.
Bachelor's degree students who have already obtained at least 60 credits, or master's degree students who, at the beginning of the activity, have been enrolled for no more than 24 months, can participate in the FSAE laboratory.
Gli studenti svolgono attività in autonomia, all'interno di una struttura organizzata della Squadra secondo un ordine gerarchico inter-pares. Ogni studente individua un docente tutor all'inizio dell'attività che supervisiona le attività svolte e si rende disponbile per ricevimenti a sportello.
Students carry out activities independently, within an organized structure of the Team according to an inter-peer hierarchical order. Each student identifies a tutor teacher at the beginning of the activity who supervises the activities carried out and is available for frontal discussion when required by the student.
Trattandosi di un'attività di laboratorio differente per ogni studente, il programma delle attività è pattuito con il docente tutor a inizio attività e aggiornato con cadenza mediamente mensile durante lo svolgersi della stessa.
Since this is a different laboratory activity for each student, the program of activities is agreed with the tutor teacher at the beginning of the activity and updated on an average monthly basis during the course of the activity.

L'esame consiste in una presentazione delle attività svolte di fronte a una commissione costituita dal docente tutor individuato dallo studente e dal faculty advisor (responsabile esame).
E' richiesta la presentazione di una relazione scritta delle attività che verrà archiviata nel database della Squadra Corse.
The examination consists of a presentation of the activities carried out in front of a commission made up of the tutor teacher identified by the student and the faculty advisor (exam manager). The submission of a written report with a description of the activities is required; this will
be archived in FSAE Team database.
