Argomento del corso:
Follia e malattia mentale: un itinerario nella letteratura italiana.
Al termine del corso gli studenti: a) avranno acquisito una conoscenza generale delle metodologie di analisi filologica e di critica testuale; b) saranno entrati in contatto, attraverso l’analisi e la lettura di opere e di sezioni di opere della letteratura italiana (dal Duecento alla contemporaneità), con un tema delicato quale della malattia mentale; c) avranno avuto modo di verificare come lo studio della Letteratura Italiana possa essere congiunto alle tecnologie informatiche e come le tecnologie informatiche siano strumento di interpretazione e di lettura dei testi letterari.
Course subject
This year the course will focus on Commedia (Dante Alighieri): the spaces of the afterlife (from the 'dark forest' to the infernal abyss, from Eden to the Empyrean) and Dante's great encounters in the world of the dead.
At the end of the course the students will have acquired, through the reading and analysis of some canti from the Commedia, a general knowledge of the methodologies of philology and textual criticism. . During the lessons they will have had the opportunity to verify how the study of Italian literature can be combined with information technology and how information technology is a tool for interpreting and reading literary texts.
La verifica delle conoscenze avverrà durante l'esame orale.
Ma gli studenti dovranno produrre - quale attività riconducibile alle tematiche connesse con il progetto di eccellenza CECIL – un elaborato scritto (massimo 10 pagine) su un argomento concordato con la docente e attinente alle tematiche del corso.
Le relazioni dovranno essere inviate alla docente via mail entro la prima data utile di appello. Gli argomenti saranno assegnati nelle prime due settimane di corso. All'elaborato sarà assegnato un voto: questo voto farà media (anche se in maniera non eccessivamente stringente) con quello conseguito durante l'esame orale.

Gli studenti svilupperanno la capacità di leggere criticamente testi letterari e di collocarli nel loro contesto storico-culturale.
The lessons will enable students to develop the ability to critically read literary texts and to place those texts in their historical-cultural context.
La docente verificherà quanto i contenuti delle lezioni siano stati assimilati anche attraverso la correzione e la revisione degli elaborati scritti.
The skills check will be done both during the exam (see the Verifica delle conoscenze field) and during the seminar lessons (see the Verifica delle conoscenze field).
La lettura e l'interpretazione dei testi letterari che saranno fornite durante il corso daranno agli studenti l'opportunità di acquisire metodologie di analisi estendibili e applicabili sostanzialmente a qualsivoglia tipo di testo. Le lezioni del corso saranno infatti finalizzate a fornire alla classe strumenti e competenze che potranno essere fruiti anche fuori dall'ambito strettamente letterario.
È indispensabile che gli studenti si procurino tutti i Testi in programma (nelle edizioni consigliate dalla docente), che li portino a lezione e che li abbiano con sé anche agli esami.
The reading and interpretation of the literary texts that will be given during the course will give students the opportunity to acquire analysis methodologies that can be extended and substantially applicable to any type of text. The lessons of the course will in fact be aimed at providing the class with tools and skills that can also be enjoyed outside the strictly literary context.

The lessons will be frontal and the teacher will make use of all the digital media available.

Il Programma d'esame comprende anche altri testi (brevi) della letteratura italiana: la docente ne parlerà a lezione. Tutti quei testi saranno contenuti nelle Dispense (cfr. il campo Bibliografia e materiale didattico).
Il Programma d’esame comprende anche la Storia della Letteratura Italiana, da studiarsi con l’ausilio del manuale indicato nella sezione Bibliografia.
As anticipated in the first field, Knowledge, the course will focus on Dante's Commedia:
A journey into the Commedia: the spaces of the afterlife (from the 'dark forest' to the infernal abyss, from Eden to the Empyrean) and Dante's great encounters in the world of the dead.
During the course, large sections of the Commedia will be read and analyzed. For each lesson the teacher will provide the handout: all the handouts will be available in real time on the course web page.
The following are an integral part of the exam program:
1. all the texts that are indicated in the Exam Texts section;
2. all the materials indicated in the Bibliography and teaching material field.
Exam texts
1.Dante Alighieri, Commedia. [Recommended edition: all editions are fine, as long as they are complete]. In every handout it will be possibile find all informations about canti or parts of canti the students have to read and to analyze.
Del materiale didattico fanno parte tutte le dispense che la docente metterà sulla pagina web del corso. Quelle dispense sono parte integrante del Programma d'esame. Devono dunque essere attentamente studiate.
La Bibliografia è costituita:
N.B: durante l’esame sarà verificata la conoscenza delle linee generali della Storia della Letteratura italiana. Il manuale va dunque attentamente studiato.
All the lecture notes that the teacher will put on the course web page are part of the teaching material. Those handouts will need to be carefully studied. Within the lecture notes, the teacher will give some reading suggestions: from time to time it will be specified which readings are to be considered merely recommended and which, on the other hand, are mandatory, ie part of the Bibliography.
The Bibliography consists of:
to. from a series of short critical essays, the precise list of which will be provided here, in this field, at least three weeks before the start of the course. Some of those essays will be available directly online, while others will be provided by the teacher in .pdf format and published on the course web page.
b. from some sections of the manual of the History of Italian Literature indicated below:
Itinerari nella letteratura italiana da Dante al Web, to c. by N. Bonazzi, A. Campana, F. Giunta and N. Maldina, coordinated by G. M. Anselmi, Bologna, Carocci 2018. Specifically, pp. 47-58; 85-128; 143-218; 249-263; 299-314; 329-341; 355-386; 401-458. - N.B: the study of the aforementioned pages of the manual and knowledge of the general lines of the history of Italian literature will be verified during the exam.
I non frequentanti dovranno preparare tutto il Programma del corso, studiando anche i materiali didattici e la bibliografia. Dovranno però, anche, integrare il programma con queste letture:
1. Carlo Samonà, Fratelli;
2. Il turbamento e la scrittura, a cura di Giulio Ferroni, Donzelli editore.
Ogni studente non frequentante deve contattare direttamente (via mail) la docente per concordare con lei l'argomento dell'elaborato scritto che è tenuto a produrre.
Non-attending students must prepare the entire program of the course, also studying the teaching materials and the bibliography. However, they will also have to integrate the program with additional reading.
