Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The objective of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge
in parallel numerical algorithms, especially in the context of grid computing
and with the specificity of asynchronism. Topics will include:
- General notions on sequential iterative algorithms and their applications to numerical problems.
- Parallel synchronous iterative algorithms for numerical computation both in linear and nonlinear cases.
- Asynchronous versions of parallel iterative algorithms.
- Applications.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
Methods:
- Final oral exam
Course work will include literature research and presentation in related topics. In the final oral presentation the student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed research problem, and organise an effective exposition of theretical and computational results.
