- una solida conoscenza dei processi sedimentari attivi negli ambienti deposizionali marini e continentali;
- una conoscenza e padronanza del linguaggio tecnico.
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate as follow: 1) a robust knowledge of the sedimentary processes occurring in both marine and continental depositional environments; 2) the ability to describe and interpret the stratigraphic successions both in outcrops and in subsurface (this last through the analysis of continuous drilled cores); 3) the ability to reconstruct the space-time evolution of the depositional environments recorded in the sedimentary successions; 4) gain an exaustive knowledge of technical language ; 5) ability to summarize the field work in a concise report; 6) aptitude to work as a team 7) the ability to apply all these knowledges to the professional work.
Power Point sull'attività svolta durante l'escursione geologica di terreno come integrazione dell'esame orale
The student will have to be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the matter of the course and be able to discuss it thoughtfully and with propriety of language. A key point for the evaluation will be represented by the demonstration of the full understanding of the scientific method; correct acquisition of data, ability to get coherent interpretations and above all the ability to have definitely internalized the distinction between data and interpretation.
- descrivere e interpretare le successioni stratigrafiche sia affioranti sia di sottosuolo (queste ultime attraverso l'analisi di sondaggio a carotaggio continuo);
- ricostruire l'evoluzione spazio-temporale degli ambienti deposizionali registrati nelle successioni sedimentarie.
By the end of the course:
- student will be able to describe and interpret both the outcropping and the subsurface stratigraphic sequences
- student will be able to reconstruct the spatio-temporal evolution of depositional environments recorded in the sedimentary succession.
By the end of lectures at the time of field-trip:
- student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the course;

- a lavorare in gruppo durante l'escursione;
- a condividere dati ed osservazioni;
- a sapere sintetizzare quanto appreso, in modo personale ed individuale, nella relazione finale;
During the field trip the student will be able to demonstrate:
- the skill to work in a team sharing data and observations;
- the skill to summarized data and observations in a written final report;
- curiosity for the topics covered and autonomy in dealing with them.
Durante l'escursione sarà verificato:
- il grado di scrupolosità e correttezza nell'acquisizione del dato e nella sua elaborazione;
- la capacità di separare il dato dall'interpretazione;
For each student will be evaluated:
- the degree of scrupulousness and correctness in the acquisition and elaboration of the data,
- the skill in separating data from interpretations
- the degree of maturity achivied in the proposed interpretations.
- Skills to recognition sedimentary rocks and structure ability to represent them through stratigraphic logs;
- basic knowledge of stratigraphy, paleontology and petrography.
- Lezioni frontali interattive con ausilio di presentazioni power point, filmati, resi disponibili sulla piattaforma moodle che è anche il mezzo di comunicazione, in tempo reale, con gli studenti che seguono il corso;
- simulazione di descrizione di un'affioramento attraverso foto;

Tipi d'architetture deposizionali associate: aggradazionali, progradazionali (deposizionali e forzate), retrogradazionali
Parte quarta.
Lezioni fuori sede/ Laboratorio
