Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main obstacles to the inclusion in the school system of different categories of students (disabled students, students from cultural minorities, immigrants...); will have the ability to identify educational approaches and strategies to create an inclusive educational context.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the presentation of their analysis of a selected case study, students must demonstrate the ability to put into practice and to execute, with critical awareness, the activities illustrated or carried out under the guidance of the teacher during the course.

Syllabus
The course illustrate a few categories of special needs students, who are at risk of educational exclusion.
National and international reports and studies are carefully analysed and discussed.
Case studies are presented (also by students) for analysis and discussion.
Educational tools, approaches and attitudes to create an inclusive educational environment are presented and discussed.
Bibliography
Recommended reading includes UNESCO and CARITAS reports; further bibliography will be indicated.
