Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to comprehend the anatomical basis of movement including its neuronal control and the locomotor system. The student will get an in depth knowledge of the functional connections between central and peripheral motor systems and locomotor apparatus.
This will provide the basis to understand the physiological and pathological alterations of motor function, she/he will be aware of the neuroanatomical basis of neuromuscular plasticity.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
- The student will be assessed for his/her ability to discuss
the main neuroanatomical structures using the appropriate anatomical
terminology.
- During the oral exam the student should be able to demonstrate his/her
knowledge of the different anatomical structures which participate to
the central regions involved in motor control. In additions a detailed
knowledge of the anatomical structures belonging to the
locomotor system is required.
The command of the interactions between the motor control and the
locomotor system represent critical points which need to be integrated
during the student's dissertation during the oral test.
- The student's ability to explain correctly the main anatomical
regions and peripheral organs involved in movement will be evaluated
along with the appropriate anatomical terminology
during the course will be assessed.
