Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the basis of design and testing motorcycle and will have the possibility to see and visit a real motorcyle company, even in terms of specific tools, laboratories snd relative competence. So the student will develop basic and fundamental competence in terms of engine and vehicle design and testing, useful in the automotive world.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed.

Syllabus
The course will be generally diveded in two parts: one referred to the engine and the other to the vehicle, both in terms of design and testing. Engine specific topic: engine foundamentals, parameters and relative effect, CFD, distribution, powertrain, acoustic, injection system, catalyst system, tools and testing, etc. Vehicle specific topic: vehicle paramenter and relative effect, acosutic, dynamic, brake and suspension, ergonomics, tools and testing, etc.

Work placement
The lessons will be arranged in Piaggio, in order to give to the student the possibility to directly see an automotive company.
