Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The students will be able to understand the process of generation and transmission of electricity. They will know how to exploit the various primary sources available, the main structure of the different generation plants, the way plants are controlled for ensuring a correct operation of the entire power system. They will have a basic knowledge of the dynamic behaviour of the main components of the power system and will also understand the criteria adopted for designing the main regulation and protection systems.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The exam will assess whether the students have gained a comprehensive view of the electricity generation and transmission process, of its fundamental dynamic behaviour and of the reasons which led to develop the modern regulation systems.
