Knowledge
Acquisition of basic techniques for geothermal drilling Acquisition of concepts of integrated methods of geothermal research through the use of dedicated software based GIS and 3D modeling. Acquisition of knowledge of measures and activities to geological and hydrogeological field and laboratory use in low-temperature geothermal energy. Basics of energy saving and integration of renewable energies (for geologist)

Syllabus
Exploration of high enthalpy fields: Geothermal drilling basics. Geothermal Geodatabase: design and use. 3D geological and geophysical modeling: integration of multidisciplinary data for risk minimization mining. Modeling of geothermal reservoir. Low enthalpy geothermal systems. Geothermal heat pumps. Closed loop systems. Geothermal probes. Drilling technologies. Ground-response tests. Laboratory measurements, thermal conductivity of soils and rocks. Materials coupling geothermal probes, soils and rocks. Open loop systems. Drilling and completion of shallow wells. Measures in wells: multiparameter probes, temperatures measuremets, Dimensioning wells, Production and reinjection wells. Thermo fluid dinamics of aquifers and the defining of environmental impact. Basics of energy saving in edifices. Integration of renewables. Outline of system technology for geothermal heat pumps Internships provided to the Laboratory of Geothermal Energy in Larderello COSVIG Energea (1 week)
