Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to interpretate the rules and discipline of the general part of italian criminal code. He will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of costitutional principles ruling italian criminal system (nullum crimen, nulla poena sine lege, etc. ) and the elements componing the structure of crimes ( conduct, consequences, circumstances, intent and knowledge, liability, attempt and cooperation ). Moreover he will be able to understand the political and criminal meaning of punishment.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed. The oral exam will be held at the end of the course and it will consist in 3 questions reguarding different part of the course. It will be necessary an adeguate knowledge of all the three topics and the unsuccess follows even with an insufficient answer to just one question.

Syllabus
During 72 hours of oral lessons with teacher, the student will analyze artciles from 1 to 240 of Italian criminal code, and articles 25 and 27 of Costitution. Every step of the course requires the comprehension of previous one.
