Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the basic private european economic law. He/she will be able to look critically at the effective level of harmonization in the european economic law. In particular, he/she will know the european regulation regarding the EU-corporate law and the new european forms of organizations (european company; european cooperative company, eeig), as well as the european financial market regulation and the principles of european contract law (sales law; consumer credit law).
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Syllabus
The course focuses on the private european economic law. Therefore, it comprises of various areas of private law which concern the economic agents, under many perspectives, with regard to both business and legal practice. In particular, final purpose of the course is to evaluate the effective level of harmonization in the economic european law reached until now. To allow the students to have a knowledge of the basic european legal instruments and of the general legal framework that characterize the EU- economic legislation, the first part of the course will focus on the legal sources of european economic law. Then, the course aims to deepen the knowledge of particular regulations which economic activities in the EU might be subject to. In particular, the course will take into account the following subjects: A) EU-corporate law; B) european financial markets regulation; c) european contract law.
