Knowledge
The student will be able demonstrate a basic knowledge and categories to understand the main theoretical and historical aspects of audio-visual media, especially film and television, but by extension also the related fields of expression and communication, such as photography and new visual technologies, with particular reference to their use in the context of tourism communication. The student will be also able to understand the importance of anthropological, cultural and social development of theatre, particularly with regard to its possible role in a policy of attraction and tourism development of an area.

Syllabus
The course considers the main theoretical, historical, methodological and organizational elements of the play, with specific attention to the aspects of drama and the role of directing, acting, dance, script, set design and the other codes of the staging. Particular emphasis is also given to the role that theatre, performance, entertainment and events can play in the development of tourism in an area or territory, also through the analysis of case studies of particular interest. The course also covers the foundations of the subject, with attention paid to both the diachronic and synchronic dimensions (the audiovisual language, the forms of production and expenditure, etc..).
