Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main historical processes that have led to the development of current security mechanisms in the workplace. The aim of the course, then, is to put students in touch with history by providing a framework of current prevention as a result of a long, complex and underestimated evolution of this application over the centuries. The need to raise awareness of the conceptual matrix of the profession is associated with the attempt to consider man in his integrity bio-psycho-social.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam , the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply.

Syllabus
The topics of the course are developed over a long period of time ranging from the birth of the first rudimentary human activities up to the present ones, which are highly complex The course is structured in two parts. The first is based on the analysis of texts that people attentive to the world of work have produced over the centuries, and the second focuses on the concepts, laws and statistics from the conference proceedings of occupational medicine. The course also includes elements of science and techniques of applied medicine.
