Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the outlines of art history from the 15th to the 19th century, towards a historical and cultural, and not merely formalistic, approach to the discipline. Moreover, the student will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of technologies related with development of web sites and of their applications in the context of cultural heritage.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. In the written exam (2 hours, 3 exercises) the student must demonstrate his/her ability to use computer languages for the development of web sites.

Syllabus
The course offers a general introduction to the problems of historical and artistic research, highlighting, through the monographic examination of a particularly significant artist or current, the most profitable methods in the analysis of figurative works. Moreover, the course offers an overview of computer networking and security concepts, an introduction to languages for web site developments and a description of standard practices for web site design and development.
