Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student will be able to understand the main technologies used in aircraft construction. The student will be able to design simple Aircraft components, selection correcly the materials to be use, the production processes, the assembly methods, the final protection and the correct inspection procedures.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology

Syllabus
The manufacturing technologies used for the construction of aircraft components, both in metal and in composite materials, are described, together with the requirements and the peculiarities of aircraft structures. Examples are given during the lectures using actual Aircraft component. Besides, corrosiona nd metal fatigue, which represent the main degradation modes of aircrafts are descirbed, togheter with the possible counteractions to prevent these problems.
Bibliography
Teaching material is available for the students. The materail is composed of 20 PDF files which cover the complete course, togheter with several movies showing the different manufacturing tecnologies.
