Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of macroeconomics. In particular, students will be aware of the most recent theories of economic growth, of unemployment, of inflation and of the working of financial markets both for a closed and for an open economy.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2 hours, 4 essay questions), the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply.
In the oral exam the student must be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Syllabus
The theory of economic growth, the theory of unemployment, basic notions of international trade, the theory of money, the level of economic activity in the short and in the long run, the (augmented) Phillips curve.
