Learning outcomes
Knowledge
Students who complete the course successfully will be able to have a solid understanding of the main foundationss of private law, in particular of the principles and rules provided by the Civil Code and the most important complementary laws. He or she will demonstrate the ability to identify the rules to solve practical case studies.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

Syllabus
The course deals with the fondamental institutions of private law, such as: Sources of law, Rights and Duties, Obligations, Contract Law, Tort law, Family and Inheritance law. In addition, some specific contractual models are analyzed in detail.
