Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main categories concerning the definition, typologies and using of the concept of Group. He or she will be able to get specific skills in order to improve the perseverance and participation to the techniques of preventive and adapted physical activities programs in which he/she is involved, connecting a theoretical frame about the sociology of group with an empirical one.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Syllabus
The aim of the course is to introduce the students to some fundamental sociological concepts (power, role/status, leadership and headship), focusing on both the group dynamics and on methodology, learning communicative and psicometric techniques. With this aim, the course wants to correlate the theoretical perspective with an empirical approach in order to clarify the operating mechanisms of the specific groups.
