Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the criminal procedure in Italy,keeping count at first of the constitutional contents that already trace a procedural route sufficiently detailed, then of the answers that we can find in the Criminal Procedure Code.From this perspective, he or she will be able to look critically at the relationship between guarantees and efficiency of the wheels of criminal justice, on the basis even of a study of the practical enforcement of the procedural rules.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss with propriety of expression not only about the constitutional and code contents, but also about the structural significance of the solutions adopted.

Syllabus
At first the course covers the general principles that rule the criminal procedure and that are a necessary starting point for an adequate consideration of the code contents, both in their statical form and in their active enforcement.Then, attention will be paid to the procedural subjects, to the procedural acts, to the law of evidence and to the precautionary measures. The second part of the course will be dedicated to the phases of the criminal proceeding: preliminary inquiry, preliminary hearing, special proceedings, trial and impugnations.In the last lectures I'll try to explain the main rules of the enforcement of a criminal judgement and the discipline of the relationship with foreigners judges in criminal procedure.
