Knowledge
The course addresses the general problems of the "macro-comparison" and then examines, in a comparative perspective, the forms of legal organization and forms of law making. A comparison between deductive and inductive method will be carried out through a detailed analysis of key decisions rendered by constitutional and supreme courts of the most important contemporary legal systems.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.

The course is divided into two parts: the larger is dedicated to the study of the Western legal tradition and in particular of the most important models that characterize this tradition. The other part provides the essential features of the core experiences related to other traditions, focusing on muslim law, indu law and chinese law.
