Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of implant dentistry, oral surgery and clinical dentistry. The student will have a thorough understanding in the diagnosis and treatment of endosseous and other types of dental implants. Lectures are specifically designed to show the most efficient clinical methods and tecniques in implant dentistry. Emphasis will be given on multidisciplinary treatment planning and disease prevention. The student will be able to use and interpret correctly all appropriate investigations (e.g. radiographic, vitality tests, microbiological tests............) to diagnose oral problems.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her ability to discuss the main topics presented during the course. Moreover he/her must be aware of any systemic factors likely to have a bearing on the treated topics In the written exam the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to organise an effective and correctly written reply.
