Knowledge
The student will acquire knowledge on the basic ideas of Probability and Statistics and will be able to apply these ideas to statistical analysis.
The student will develop the ability to correctly apply these mathematical tools to some very simple physical and engineering problems
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2 hours, two or three mandatory exercises) the student must demonstrate her/his ability to put into practice the ideas and tools learnt during the course and apply them to some simple problems.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material, to explain correctly the topics presented during the course and to discuss thoughtfully the main ideas.
Methods:
- Final oral exam
