Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who completes the course successfully will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the main issues related to the competitiveness of industrial companies. He or she will be aware of evolution of the production process in all its phases, the relationship with suppliers, industrial automation, safety at work and the role of quality. Lastly, he or she will be aware of work organization in all facets.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
- The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. - During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression. - The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed.

Syllabus
The competitive landscape in which industrial enterprises operate. Time Based Strategy and development of new products, evolution of organizational forms in the production, evolution of relationships with suppliers. Industrial automation and changes in enterprise organization, the management of knowledge in a context of internationalization: the role of technology. Safety at work. Relationship between quality and organization: changing from control to management, certification of quality management systems and development of integrated systems.
