Knowledge
The student will be able to develop the sensitivity to the complex and problematic nature of the museum, especially in light of the most recent changes in the shape and nature of this institution. He or she will understand the opportunities and risks that the tourist offers to the reality of the museum.

Syllabus
The course covers two main areas of interest. The first analyses the aspects relating to the history, nature, organization and management of museums. The second part of the course will focus on issues relating to the identification, conservation and restoration of works of art, museum education, traditional and contemporary types of museums (e.g. open air museums) particularly related to the "new cultural tourism".
