Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge in Particle Physics.
He will have the tools to understand the experimental approach to the data analysis of a modern high energy experiment.
He will be able to afford the preparation of a good thesis of Laurea Magistrale in Physics.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student should demonstrate to be able to calculate in detail one simple process.
He should prove the basic understanding of fundamental properties of particles.
The oral examination is usually lasting 1 Hour to 1 Hour and 1/2.
The capability of clear presentation with precise language is highly appreciated,
together with possible critical comments to some experiments.
Methods:
Further information:
The student is asked to evaluate the cross section or decay widths for a given process. The discussion of a possible measurement and the experimental features are required.
The discoveries of some important properties of are also discussed.
Teaching methods
Delivery: face to face
Learning activities:
- attending lectures
- participation in discussions
