Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to: -know the main agronomic problems -cropping technique of herbaceous crops -know the sustainability of each productive activity to protect the environment -Optimize the quantitative and qualitative production -Know the manage production and cultivation techniques in different environments

The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.

Syllabus
The course analyzes for the main herbaceous crops the origin, history, the economic importance. The cultivation technique for each species is described to optimize the production in different environments. The technique of seed production is studied in the context of the protection of biodiversity also. The uses of different crops are described and discussed.

Work placement
Visit to farms for the evaluation of agronomic problems and cultivation tecniques (nutrient requirement and fertilization, irrigation, weed control strategies, pests and diseases, harvest, first processing, yield and quality, active principles and uses).
