Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the ability to understand
and use the basic numerical methods for solving computationaal problems. The student
will also be able to implement these methods and to validate experimentally their performances.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam the student must demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and to use Matlab for solving and/or investigating a computational task.
During the oral exam the student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.Methods:

Syllabus
Error generation and analysis; numerical methods for solving linear systems; numerical methods for solving non linear equations, polynomial interpolation, numerical quadrature. Introduction to MatLab and numerical computing with MatLab.
