Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The students will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of plant physiology: cell compartimentation and membrane transport, photosynthesis, respiration, development and morphogenesis, control of flowering and plant hormones. Lastly, he or she will be aware of modern approaches for plant physiology.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology. During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material

Methods:

  • Final oral exam
  • Continuous assessment

Syllabus
The aim of the course is to supply the fondamental elements of plant physiology. The course focuses on the physiology of photosynthesis, respiration. The course also approaches the main issues related to morphogenesis and cell differentiation and particular emphasis will be used for the mechanisms involved in the flowering. Lastly mineral nutrition and plant hormones will be presented and discussed.
