Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will have the capacity to recognize different mental disorders in his/her practice. He/she will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of different types of rehabilitation techniques for the different disorders. He/she will be able to understand the mechanism of disturbed neurodevelopment as the basis for treatment. He/she will be aware of the importance to work in a group of specialist.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
The student will be assessed on his/her demonstrated ability to discuss the main course contents using the appropriate terminology.
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material and be able to discuss the reading matter thoughtfully and with propriety of expression.
The student's ability to explain correctly the main topics presented during the course at the board will be assessed.
The student must demonstrate the ability to approach a circumscribed problem and to decide the specific tecnique to confront with.
The student must demonstrate the ability to put into practice his/her new knowledgeMethods:
- Final oral exam

Syllabus
The course covers the field of neuropsychiatric disorders with special attention to mental disorders during infancy, toddlerhood, childhood and adolescence.
Particular attention will be devoted to neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention disorders, mental retardation, affective disorders and behavioral disorders. Type of rehabilitation tecniques for different disorders will be the other topic of the course.
