Learning outcomes
Knowledge
The student who successfully completes the course will be able to demonstrate: a) a basic knowledge of mechanisms and symptoms of "medical" diseases b) some insights, when available, about possible influence of ambient conditions in disease development c) the capability to evaluate and interpret the vital signs
Assessment criteria of knowledge
During the oral exam the student must be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the course material

Syllabus
-Description of basic manifestations of disease, such as pain, dyspnea, syncope, palpitations, headache, oedema - Quick assessment of vital signs and recognition of critical conditions - Basic principles of cardiovascular, renal, metabolic and neoplastic disease
