Learning outcomes
Knowledge
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to explain the usage, value and advantages of key microfossil groups within biostratigraphy, paleoenvironmental, and paleoclimate reconstructions and to explain and give examples of the value and advantages of selected microfossils groups in different geographical areas through geological time.

Morphology, classification, preparation techniques, and evolution of key microfossil groups and their biostratigraphic and paleoecological significance. Emphasizes foraminifera, calcareous nannofossils. Regularly scheduled laboratory.
